White River (Book 1): One Mountain at a Time

Michael Giere

“Whatever will happen on this mountain, will happen. But I beg you, save these children for their lives to come.”

Richard Murray and his children find themselves in a surprise storm, the kind that burns your lungs, devours the sky, and blizzards the world to a white death.

A mysterious stranger pulled Richard out of the hell his life had become. As he stood on his feet again, a camping trip with his children seemed the perfect way to come back into their lives.

Now they’ll be lucky to escape with their lives.

One Mountain at a Time is a survival thriller driven by redemption and hope, as a rural community comes together to attempt a rescue. This is the first novel in Michael Giere’s White River series.

    A great book.,

  2. 5 out of 5

It’s a great book and a completely different type of Christian fiction. It is actually two stories in one. The first is the adventure story based on a real account of a dad and his two children lost in a surprise October snow storm in the Rocky Mountains, and their incredible fight to survive. It is a bone-chilling account and ends in an unexpected twist.

On another level, Giere explores sin and its consequences as a family tries to put their lives together after the dad destroys his marriage and family relationships with his addictions. The book’s cast of characters are interwoven in the search and rescue efforts, and their everyday struggles are honest and authentic.

This is a wonderfully written book and Giere is a great storyteller; he understands the power of personal stories and he makes you want to keep turning pages.
